Frequently Asked Questions

Everything we get asked most often — about printing, downloading, sizing, licensing, and the shop bundle. If your question isn't here, reach out through Etsy and we'll get back to you.

Downloads & Delivery

Every LU2COHOUSE pattern is an instant digital download. The moment your payment is confirmed on Etsy, your files are ready — nothing ships, and there is no waiting.

You can find your downloads at any time by logging into your Etsy account, going to Account → Purchases and Reviews, and clicking the download button next to your order. Your files stay available there permanently, so you can re-download whenever you need to.

If you checked out as a guest, create a free Etsy account using the same email address to access your purchases.

Instantly. As soon as your payment clears, the files are available in your Etsy account. There is no processing time and nothing is shipped in the post.

If you placed your order and the download button is not appearing, try refreshing the Purchases page. If the issue persists, contact us through your Etsy order and we will sort it out.

Most download issues resolve quickly. Try these steps first:

  • Refresh the Purchases page on Etsy and try the download button again.
  • Try downloading on a desktop or laptop rather than a mobile device — browsers on mobile occasionally handle large PDFs differently.
  • Make sure you have enough storage space available on your device.
  • On mobile, download the file to your Files app first, then open it with a dedicated PDF reader app.

If none of the above works, message us directly through your Etsy order. We will send you a working file straight away.

Your purchase gives you lifetime access to the files — the link does not actually expire. You can re-download at any time by logging into your Etsy account and going to Account → Purchases and Reviews. The download button will always be there.

If you are still unable to access your files for any reason, send us a message through Etsy with your order number and we will get them to you directly.

Printing

Use A4 or US Letter paper and open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader (free to download). In the print settings, select Actual Size — or Do Not Scale — and make sure all automatic fit, resize, and margin adjustment options are turned off.

The A4 and US Letter files are both sized to print correctly on either paper size, so you do not need to adjust anything beyond setting the scale to 100%.

Each pattern includes a test square on the first page. Print that page first and measure the square — if it matches the dimensions printed on it, everything is set correctly before you print the rest.

Avoid printing from your browser's built-in PDF viewer. It can strip layers and alter page scaling, which shifts your pattern pieces.

The A0 file is a single large-format sheet that contains all the pattern pieces without any page breaks or tape lines. Take it to a copy shop or print bureau that offers wide-format or plotter printing and ask for an A0 print at 100% scale.

This saves a significant amount of time compared to taping together an A4 or US Letter version, and the result is a clean single sheet you can use directly on your fabric.

The Patterns

No. Every LU2COHOUSE pattern is designed, drafted, and tested by hand. Each one goes through a full human sewing process before it is published — we sew the garment ourselves to check the fit, construction, and instructions at every step.

We do not use AI to generate pattern pieces, instructions, or any part of the sewing content. What you receive is the result of real design work and real testing.

Our patterns are designed to be accessible to a wide range of sewists. The majority are beginner-friendly — each one includes step-by-step illustrated instructions written so that you can follow along even if it is your first garment.

The skill level for each pattern is listed clearly on the product page before you purchase, so you can always check whether a design suits where you are in your sewing journey.

Yes. Every LU2COHOUSE pattern includes seam allowance — you do not need to add your own. Most patterns use a 1 cm seam allowance throughout. The exact amount is specified in the product description and printed at the beginning of the pattern booklet.

Every LU2COHOUSE pattern includes all sizes from XXS to 5XL in a single purchase — you receive the full size range and can cut the size that fits you, or blend between sizes for a closer fit.

To choose your size, check the size chart in the listing photos for the specific pattern you are buying. Compare your body measurements — bust, waist, and hip — directly against the chart. Do not go by your ready-to-wear clothing size, as garment sizing varies significantly across brands.

If your measurements fall between two sizes, we generally recommend sizing up. You can always take in a seam, but adding ease back in requires more work.

Licensing & Usage

Yes. You are welcome to sell finished garments sewn from LU2COHOUSE patterns — whether at a market stall, through an online shop, or as custom orders.

If you are planning to move into larger-scale commercial production, please reach out to us first. We offer commercial licences for higher-volume manufacturing and are happy to discuss the right arrangement for your situation.

What you may not do is share, resell, or distribute the pattern file itself in any form. Each purchase covers one person's personal use of the design.

Shop Bundle

The Whole Shop Bundle gives you access to every sewing pattern currently available in the LU2COHOUSE catalogue — all in one purchase, at a significantly lower price than buying each pattern individually.

After purchasing, you receive access to a private Google Drive folder where all patterns are organised and ready to download. The bundle covers all patterns listed in the shop at the time of purchase.

You can find the bundle directly on Etsy: Whole Shop Bundle →

Support

Yes. If you have a question about a pattern, a download issue, a printing problem, or anything else — send us a message through your Etsy order and we will get back to you as quickly as we can, typically within 24 hours.

We genuinely want your sewing experience to go well, so please do not hesitate to reach out.
